This year is the 40th anniversary of the much loved Star Wars franchise. So Hasbro was at the NY Toy Fair in force (pun intended) showing off a ton of merchandise to celebrate the 40th anniversary. Of course there will be a number of new figures, even a nod to the “Early Bird” special featuring an exclusive Darth Vader & a reproduction of the original twelve figure display.

Hasbro was also there showing off their Star Wars 40th anniversary Monopoly game.

Keep your eye out this year for thousands of new Star Wars items. It’s going to be a big year for Star Wars collectors.

As we move along Asmodee was there showing Z-Man Games next season of Pandemic Legacy.

Pandemic Legacy season 2 is a stand-alone sequel to the original that came out in 2015. It is set 71 years after the plague hit the world. A small group of people now venture off of their floating “havens” near the sea & go back in land not knowing what perils they might face.

Since this is a legacy game each of the scenarios will change the face of the board. This will cause a major affect on how players will progress through gameplay. Pandemic Legacy season one came in blue & red boxes, this time season two will be in black & yellow.

The game of Akrotiri was also seen at this years Toy Fair. It is a hard to find favorite making its way back to store shelves here in the USA sometime in Q2. Akrotiri is a tile placement game designed by Jay Cormier & Sen-Foong Lim, the Bamboozle Bros.

On top of all that gaming goodness, Asmodee was there to also show off the next CATAN expansion for CATAN Seafarers. Legend of the Sea Robbers will be a campaign style expansion where actions will continue into the next scenario.

USAopoly was also there to announce their new venture with Mondo & USAopoly’s new Project Raygun. Let me give you a little information on USAopoly’s Project Raygun. This is a new division that is focused on bringing iconic properties together with visionary art & design.

USAopoly’s Project Raygun announced that their collaboration Mondo will produce a thrilling hidden traitor type game based on John Carpenter’s “The Thing”called Infection at Outpost 31.

USAopoly’s Project Raygun also announced that they will be working with Sideshow on merchandise for Sideshow’s Court of the Dead. This will include a board game to be released sometime in 2018.

Join me next time for part three of Games at NY Toy Fair 2017 as I list a ton of games being released from popular game publisher Cryptozoic.
