There are a lot of things in life that get my imagination going. Board games with a very unique theme seem to release those special chemicals that get my imagination turned up like an air conditioner in 100 degree weather. And I know that we have all had those special geeky conversations with our friends that begin with “What if….”.

So today when I came across the game Vampires vs. Unicorns from Arcane Journeys it got me to imagine what would happen if Vampires did actually fight Unicorns. Sounds crazy right?

Vampires vs. Unicorns comes from the mind of Jim DuBois. It was designed by Jim DuBois & Attaboy while art is done by Travis Lampe & Travis Louie. Vampire vs. Unicorns is a floor, card tossing game for two players that usually take twelve to fifteen minutes to play.

At the beginning of the game the players will set up their special Unicorn or Vampire tiles on their side of the floor.

VVU-1

A player, on their turn, will toss one of their cards at one of their opponents floor tiles to attack it. The object of the game is to destroy your opponents floor tiles. Player’s may also play action cards to toss more cards or to make their side stronger.

Vampires vs. Unicorns is kind of like playing Corn Hole, a very popular bean bag tossing game. So it isn’t a difficult game to learn but being able to toss a card to where it needs to land may take some time. Remember practice makes perfect.

The art is wild & intriguing. The tiles that come with the game can be framed as regular pieces of art when not playing the game. Makes for a great conversational piece.

Vampires vs. Unicorns is currently running as a project on Kickstarter which you can back here: Vampires vs. Unicorns. This project will run until April 28th, 2017. The cost of the game will cost you $36 plus shipping.

You can let you imagination fly while playing this game.
