I have always loved Christmas. Even after finding out that well…don’t want to disappoint the kiddies so I won’t ruin it with a spoiler.

I think the family gatherings are my favorite part of the holiday. Maybe it is because the whole family can park themselves in front of the television & watch some of the best Christmas programming from those funny sitcoms to classic movies like A Christmas Carol or Scrooged.

We all know the story of that infamous rich man named Ebenezer Scrooge written by the great author Charles Dickens.

Scrooge was mean to everyone he knew. He was a bad man that cheated people out of money, forced his employees to work for a small pittance, to yelling at children (for shame).

In the story Scrooge is visited three times by Christmas spirits. The first showed him what it was like when he was younger. The second spirit showed him what his present was like. And of course the third spirit showed him what his future would be like.

He was a miserable man that would have to change his ways.

In Scrooge The Board Game players will choose to play one of six Charles Dickens characters from A Christmas Carol. Scrooge The Board Game is for two to six players,, ages eight years to adult, could take fifteen to ninety minutes to play, & was designed by Simon, Jason, & Peter Gerring.

On a turn a player will start off by playing a Bag of Tricks card. Bag of Tricks cards will have a specific action that must be resolved.

Next that player will decide on if they will want to move forward or backward on the board. Deciding to move back will earn that player fifty gold pieces for every street, space, they move backwards. After deciding which way to move that player will have to figure out how they will want to move. They can pay five hundred coins for each space they move, play a Ghost card & resolve it, or they can roll a regular six-sided die or a special Jacob Marley six-sided die which has both positive & negative numbers.

After that player moves they will resolve whatever action is on that space. These actions will range from collecting actions cards, gaining money, or stealing from another player.

There are things that players must be aware of. There are nightmare cards, traps, in-game villains, & of course other players will look to stop each other.

Players will look to bluff, collect card sets, & strategically plays cards as they make their way to the final street in Scrooge The Board Game.

Scrooge The Board Game is currently running on Kickstarter. It’ll be available to back until October 5th, 2017. Back it now & receive it by this Christmas. You can back it here: Scrooge: The Board Game. There are a lot of stretch goals & rewards.

Get ready to change Scrooge’s heart & game on!
